New items from last week:  orange/brandy cupcakes, dog McBones, sugar free biscotti, spice cookie sandwich cookies, turkey/black bean chili with cornbread, and more spring like weather.

Changes may be on the horizon.

St. Patrick's Day is now upon us.  We have all of the non traditional goodies plus soda bread.  Baileys cake pops, green velvet cupcakes, dog McBones, and maybe a holiday inspired soup to get you ready for the big day.

Easter specials will be available next week.  All of the usual, including braided egg breads, chocolate covered egg cakes, sugar cookies, Easter baskets and much more.

If/when the Iggles acquire Peyton Manning or RG3, we will have a celebration to end all celebrations at the bakery.  Needless to say, we will not be planning too far ahead for that party.  At least D-Jack will be with us as a possibly disgruntled player for a few more years.  I would give you my preview of the MLB season, but alas, baseball is too boring for me and the season is way too long.  But anyway, Go Phils !!

Please be careful when parking on Main Street as some drivers tend to turn right onto Hanthorn about 30 feet early.  Obviously that warranted about 3 tickets for the driver and a new minivan for our customer.  But at least she enjoyed a nice bowl of chili and some cornbread before her day was ruined.

New items from last week:  rum raisin bread pudding, lemon/raspberry cupcakes, mini strawberry cheesecakes topped with lemon mousse, and sugar free chocolate/walnut biscotti.

Feels like spring is here, but we predict that there will be one more showing of the white stuff before its all over.  But the weather has us thinking about changes to our lunch offerings.  Bring back old items, try out new items, continue with soups year round..............or just convince everyone that tuna salad will taste better between a couple of our chocolate chip cookies.

Almost made it the entire week without having the sample tray knocked over.  Maybe next week.  But at least it usually guilts the person or the parents of person into buying a few extra items.

If you haven't already done so, "like" our Facebook page. There is a link on the top, left hand section of the page.  Our Facebook page is updated almost daily with soup selections, new items, weather, traffic and gossip reports.  Plus there are various pictures of new items, custom cakes, and upcoming holiday treats.

Our bread schedule is posted somewhere else on our expansive website.  BUT you can always call the day ahead for just about any bread that you might need that we currently make.  Preferrably by 2pm the day before for pickup after 10am the following day (just in case I hit snooze too many times).

Our first edition of our email newsletter is still in production, so stay tuned and keep sending us your emails..........

New items from last week:  mini cherry heart pie pockets, orange/cranberry bread, bacon cookies, mini strawberry/ricotta cheesecakes, and cinnamon raisin bread has now moved to Friday.

Stop in and grab a menu for St. Patty's Day.  Soda bread, cupcakes, Baileys mousse, shamrock cookies and maybe even an Irish soup on the big day.

Don't forget, for best selection, pre-order you special occassion cakes more than two hours ahead.......

Keep wishing for snow and cold weather to keep the creative juices flowing for our daily soup selection.  Once it gets too warm, soups will be cut back and new menu items will be added.  Maybe a new sandwich, salad or something fruity and cheesey.

We will be open Easter Sunday for pickups from 8am until 1 pm and possibly Mothers Day for pickups and maybe a few upscale brunch

one of our many Valentine's treats
New items fromThis last week-  soup with quinoa, heart shaped everything for Valentine's Day, no place meatball soup, winter and spring weather in the same week with a little snow to finish it out, and cocoa/peanut sugar free biscotti.

Another Valentine week in the books.  Some old favorites mixed with some new  twists, including heart shaped French cannolis, mini heart shaped cherry pie pockets and "love apple/goat cheese/champagne" soup to celebrate the day.  And it even followed the same pattern of mothers stopping in the morning for treats for their kids followed by men in the afternoon looking to cover their butts because they neglected to order ahead.................

Kudos to the girlfriend who set the new record of long distance phone order.  Calling all the way from Honduras to get a delivery for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day.  It's amazing what you can find on that "internet", even from some country that most Americans couldn't identify on a map.

King Cakes are being planned for the 20th and 21st, so be sure to order ahead for guaranteed availability.

Don't forget to either sign up through the Homepage on this site, or leave us your email address when you visit the store for our monthly email newsletter.  First edition will be emailed

"golden goose"
New items from last week:  sugar free cocoa/ginger/orange biscotti, pink velvet cupcakes, our first edition of SSSC, orange/polenta shortbread and beautiful spring-like weather (hopefull we don't have to pay for this later)

Taking orders for your Super Bowl party, pepperoni bread, chili, baked ziti, cookie/brownie/cupcake trays, pizza shells and sandwich rolls.

Keep an eye out for the next sign ups for the Super Secret Supper Club.  Future date will be posted shortly.  The first dinner was promoted on FB, the second will be promoted elsewhere.  Could be this website, in-store, chalkboard, email list, random phone call, or maybe you just need to know somebody who knows somebody else who knows the boss (who is also the person who approves the guest list).  Warning, the guest list and menu are kept a secret until your arrival.  Picky eaters and those who are not open to trying new items would not be ideal candidates for this event.  Pricing begins at $40++.

Don't forget your Valentine or you might be single by the 15th.  So stop in and order something special to keep yourself out of the doghouse, 625-0711.

FYI, we are closed on Sunday, except for pre-ordered pickups (I think we started closing on Sunday about a year ago), but feel free to grab a menu from the front porch or leave an amusing message on the answering machine.

New items from last week:  almond lace cookies, chocolate covered peanut toffee, and no-place meatballs.

Entered a batch of meatballs into St. Vincent's first annual Meatball Cook-Off.  Also made a batch of mini spaghetti & meatball cupcakes for the dessert table that was included with admission to the event.  Even though we did not win, will still might feature our new signature no-place meatballs at the shop.

Our first significant snowfall of the season took place on Friday.  The town did a great job clearing Main Street in a timely fashion.  In case we get another storm before spring, stop in early to stock up on bread, sweets and soup before it's all gone.

Valentines Day menus are available in the store for your  review.  We are always open to your ideas for custom orders for cookies, cakes, and gift baskets, whether it's an everyday event or February 14th.
